Tempus
I have been called for quite some time
By a personal pilgrimage from a dream
Where I am walking the lengths of the universe.
The longer I walk the desire grows worse
As life seems to slip away from
My ever-weakening grasp.
As age was always the very last thing
To be considered or thought of.
It is taking me for a ride.

The past never leaves us alone,
Often far out of mind,
Left behind, yet
Always creeping along at a pace
And managing to show its face
At times where the future lays
In the balance.
