Suddenly

Suddenly, the universe is created,

And then the Earth,

And then suddenly you are there.

Then suddenly you’re a child

And slowly, slowly

You become less wild,

Because as you age you

Suddenly build yourself a cage

To reside in and hide in -

Kind of like Bin Laden

Without the terror or the fear.

Why not just grab another beer?

It’s an error.

Suddenly it becomes clear

That the thing that’s holding you back

Has always been your fear

Of failing. And leaving this life and sailing

Off on your own, all alone.

You have to leave your comfort zone

If you’re ever gonna make it back

All on your own.

‘Cause suddenly, at some point

It has to hit you

That the answer’s not rolled up

Into your joints.

Just remember,

don’t forget to stay aware

That inevitably, at some point,

Suddenly, you’re not there.
